Rao Inderjit Singh

Rao Inderjit Singh (born 11 February 1951) is an Indian politician. Presently he is member of the 15th Lok Sabha (Lower house of the parliament of India). He represents theGurgaon of Haryana and is a member of the Indian National Congress (INC) political party. He studied at the Lawrence School, Sanawar. He is from the royal family of Rao Tula Ram, who was a great freedom fighter.
He was Minister of State for Defence Production of India in the Ministry of Defence (India).

Political career

  • MLA - 4 Terms: 1977-1982
  • 1982-1987: As a Minister of State (independent Charge for Food and civil supplies)
  • 1991-1996: As Cabinet Minister for Environment,Forest,Medical and Technical Education.
  • MP - 3 Terms: 1998-1999, 2000–2004, 2004–2009
    • Minister of State for External Affaires and also As a MOS Defence (Production)
  • 2009- on wards: Chairman of Parliament Information technology.
As an MLA in the Haryana assembly he was
  • 1986-87: Minister of State (independent Charge for Food and civil supplies)
  • 1991-1996: Cabinet Minister for Environment,Forest,Medical and Technical Education.

  • elected to 15th Lok Sabha in 2009 from Gurgaon Lok Sabha Seat. And Chairman of Parliament Information technology.
  • elected to 14th Lok Sabha in 2004 from Gurgaon Lok Sabha Seat.MOS for External Affairs and Defence Production
  • elected to 12th Lok Sabha in 1998 from Mohindergarh Lok Sabha Seat.
  • and again in 2004 general elections he got the hearts of his people.
  • He was give the post of Minister of State for External Affairs (2004–2006) and of Minister of State for Defence Production of India from 2006–2009.

  • Rao Inderjit Singh was a member Indian shooting Team from 1990–2003 and won Bronze Medal in Commonwealth Shooting Championship.
  • He is also a National Champion in Skeet for 3 consecutive years.
  • He has also won 3 gold medals in SAF Games.

[edit]2009 Lok Sabha ELections

In 2009 Lok Sabha elections he has chosen the newly formed Gurgaon Loksabha constituency from Indian National Congress of Smt Sonia Gandhi and is tipped to be favorite candidate of the public.
Mr. Rao won the Lok Sabha election 2009 from Gurgaon. He got 278516 supports out of 1244437 voters in 24 candidates.
