Mizo girl rescued at Rewari

A minor Mizo girl who was sold twice, forcibly married and sexually abused after being trafficked to Haryana via Delhi three months ago allegedly by a Border Security Force personnel and his accomplices has been rescued from Rewari in Haryana. Five persons have been arrested.

The 15-year-old girl, whose family is in the dairy business in the outskirts of Aizawl, was last seen on June 6. Police investigations revealed that she allegedly fell into the trap of a BSF jawan named Satyawan. The accused sent her to his village in Rajasthan and gave her Rs.3,000 for travel expenses. However, his brother Raju received her midway at the New Delhi railway station and in connivance with his accomplices, allegedly sold her for Rs.90,000. Satyawan, who proceeded on leave a few days later, was allegedly paid Rs.50,000 as his cut.

When the traffickers learnt that the police had registered a case and launched a hunt for them, they panicked and allegedly planned to eliminate the victim. However, accused Dharamvir Yadav (30) chose not to kill her and instead sold her off to one Ram Yadav (60) and his son Dinesh (31) for Rs.50,000. It is alleged that the victim was forced to marry Dinesh and her name was changed to conceal her real identity.

A Mizoram Police team headed by a woman officer mounted surveillance on the suspects and zeroed in on Ram Yadav. In coordination with Delhi-based non-government organisation Shakti Vahini and Mizoram-based NGO Chan, they raided the house of the accused in Rewari and rescued the girl. Ram Yadav and his son Dinesh were arrested along with Dharamvir, Satyawan's relative Jile Singh (36) and Mahinder Singh (65), an ex-Serviceman.

However, Satyawan's brother Raju managed to escape. Searches were conducted at Alwar in Rajasthan to arrest him and his accomplices. “He is still at large,” said an officer.

The victim was produced before the Child Welfare Committee, which issued ordered for her production before the CWC in Aizwal. The accused were produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, who granted the police their 10 days transit remand for further proceedings in Mizoram.

The victim and the accused were on Thursday taken to Mizoram by different fights from Delhi airport. “Satyawan has obtained an interim anticipatory bail,” said a police officer.

Madhya Pradesh contractor arrested for murdering youth in Rewari

Rewari:  Police in Rewari have arrested a building contractor in connection with the murder of a city youth whose body was exhumed from a construction site, police said.

Pramod Saini was supervising the construction work of his uncle late Kanwar Singh Sainis house, whose construction work had been assigned on contractual basis to Murli, a resident of Madhya Pradesh.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Krishan Lal said that after an altercation over some advance payment of construction remuneration, Murli allegedly assaulted Pramod with a spade and then strangled him to death. 

Pramods body was buried in a pit at the construction site by the accused, Lal said.

Murli was apprehended after which he made confession leading to the exhumation of Pramod's body last evening.

Police registered a case of murder and destruction of evidence against the contractor.

Minor girl from Mizoram rescued in Haryana

A minor girl Sonia (name changed), native of Durtlang of north Aizawl, Mizoram was rescued from the clutches of traffickers from Rewari district, Haryana in a joint rescue operation conducted by Mizoram Police comprising of three police officers, Delhi based NGO Shakti Vahini led by Mr. Ravi Kant and team and a Mizoram based NGO, CHAN on September 12.
In the two day operations, five traffickers were also arrested from different places. They have been identified  Dinesh Kumar Yadav (31), Shri Ram Yadav (60), Dharanveer Yadav  (30),  Jile Singh (36), Mahinder Singh (65) and one person which is not known yet.
The victim was counseled by the professional counselor of Shakti Vahini. During counseling it was revealed that on June 6 Satyawan, BSF personnel of SHQ, Aizawl, Mizoram dispatched Sonia to his home village Rotwal, Alwar District, Rajasthan via Guwahati (Assam). He handed her Rs. 3,000/- (Rupees three thousand) only for her journey expenses. The girl arrived New Delhi Railway Station and was received by Raju Yadav who is a brother of Satyawan Yadav.
Raju in connivance with other accomplices sold the victim for sexual exploitation at Rs. 90,000. Satyawan who was availed leave also reached his home village Rotwal. He was paid Rs. 50,000 out of the sale of the girl. It was also revealed that the victim had been seduced and exploited by the BSF personnel Satyawan posted at BSF Sector Hqrs. Durtlang, Aizawl, Mizoram. BSF Hqrs and residence of victim girl are close by at the same locality of Durtlang North, Aizawl.
Mobile phone contacts made by unidentified callers to the family members of the victim traced the callers to Haryana and Rajasthan. BSF personnel Satyawan had availed leave on June 9. His past acquaintance with the victim and the coincidence of his leave with the disappearance of the victim pose a strong suspicion on the involvement of Satyawan on the disappearance of Sonia. A case has been registered at Bawngkawn Police Station, Aizawl, Mizoram Case No. 249/2011 Dt.17.8.2011 u/s 5(1)(a),(b),(c) and (d) Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956 r/w Secs 342/366-A/372/376(a) IPC r/w Secs 73/76 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of children) Act,2000.
On learning the fact that a criminal case was registered at Aizawl, Mizoram in connection with the missing of the girl, her captors decided to terminate (kill) her. One Dharamvir Yadav (30) s/o Nihal Singh Yadav, village- Manethi; P.S. Khol; Distt: Rewari, Haryana (now arrested) having sympathy on the victim girl decided not to terminate (kill) her but sold her to Shri Ram Yadav and his son Dinesh Kumar Yadav for false marriage to Dinesh Kumar Yadav @ Rs. 50,000, a source added.
The rescue team raided the house of Shri Ram Yadav - 60 yrs. s/o Shiv Narain Yadav (L); village- Pitanwas; PS- Kasola; Distt- Rewari, Haryana on the evening/night of 12th Sept, 2011 and rescued the victim.

Two teenagers arrested for Class XII student's murder

Rewari:  Two teenagers were arrested on Saturday in connection with the murder of a Class XII student in Rewari, a senior police official said.

The two students were arrested in connection with the murder of Ramesh Kumar, a Class XII student, who was killed in a violent clash that took place between two rival groups of students at Kanwali village on August 18, Ram Kishan, Station House Officer (SHO) of Khol police station, said.

He said one of the arrested students, Mohan Lal of Gothra village, was remanded in police custody for one day by a local court, while the other accused is a minor and was sent to observation home at Faridabad by a Juvenile court.

Mohan Lal's interrogation would lead to the identification-cum apprehension of the remaining accused students involved in the crime, the SHO said.
