Rewari Young lovers commit suicide

Rewari (Har), Nov 7 (PTI) Two young lovers allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a dry well after the girl's family opposed their marriage, police said today. The 21-year-old girl and her 23-year-old lover hailed from Garhi Ruthal village in Mahendergarh district, about 45 kms from here, they said. The girl was a student of BA (final year) while the youth was a graduate and both belonged to the Dhanak community (SC), they said. When the girl's parents realised that the two had decided to marry, they arranged her marriage with another youth, they said, adding, out of frustration, both committed suicide on October 29. In a similar incident, two teenaged lovers allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a speeding train in UP's Sant Kabir Nagar. Jitendra Vishwakarma (19) and Tikkal (18) took the extreme step yesterday as their parents disapproved of the relationship, they said. The bodies have been sent for postmortem and an investigation is on, police said.
